State Certification Requirements Effective January 1, 2016

Posted March 4, 2016
With change sometimes comes confusion.  The addition of the requirement to complete skills for state firefighter certification has caused some confusion.  January 1, 2016, was the effective date for the GFSTC Rules and Regulations.  Anyone who has taken and passed the written exam after December 31, 2015, and has not successfully completed the requirement for skills as stated in 205-1-3-.04 Classifications of Fire Service Personnel in the GFSTC Rules and Regulations must complete skills within 12 months.  We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause but it is necessary to comply with the GFSTC Rules and Regulations.  Any questons, please contact GFSTC office.
